I love photographing young families, however this often means chasing around young children who don't want a stranger (me) taking their picture. I can't blame them, their parents are telling them to smile and act normal when a stranger is following them around with a big camera in front of their face.
Rhys certainly wasn't impressed with me in his house but I did manage to capture some of his smiles. He's the cutest kid and just melts your heart. It's not surprising since his parents are pretty good looking too!!
I'm really enjoying a matte looking photo, so for this blog post I have edited the photos with a light matte effect. Let me know what you think.

I had such a great time with this family taking photos for their Christmas cards. I loved the idea of hanging Christmas ornaments in the trees - it looks so magical.
I also love the cozy winter hats and scarves.
The little girl's hat was made by her very talented grandmother. To see more of her handmade baby clothes you can visit her facebook page: Colette's Collection.

This beautiful rustic location is right beside this couple's new home! It's so beautiful, just like these two!
They are expecting a baby any day now and they will make the most amazing parents.
This is another session where it was grey and cloudy all day and then just in time for our meeting the sun came out.
Enjoy!

I have known this family for a couple years now and I was so excited when they asked me to photograph them. They are so beautiful inside and out and we had a great time walking around the Black Rapid Locks.
The weather was perfect, there were still some colourful leaves on the trees and everyone was full of smiles.

Mulder Family
Friday, 18 October 2013
I was super excited to photograph the Mulder family. This was especially true after hearing that they had found a red wagon for the day. Adding props to a session can really pull it all together. Plus, Dylan loved the wagon!
He also loved the puddles and at the end of the session walked ankle deep into one of them (sorry.... that was mostly my fault for encouraging him to get close to the water).
This is also a great example of how to coordinate outfits with complimentary colours.
